Moray Sports Centre received a LEADER award to create an innovative and fully inclusive play park - the first of its kind in the North of Scotland and only the second fully inclusive facility in the entire country.

The Inclusive Play Park provides opportunities for children with chronic illness or disabilities to experience accessible play and confidence building side-by-side with their peers. Such inclusive play facilities are currently sparse in Moray.

The new play facilities are located in the New South Elgin development, within the grounds of the recently opened Moray Sports Centre.

The Inclusive Play Park brings one of the most, unique and thoughtful designed facilities to Moray. The facilities cater not only to Elgin residents but for children throughout Moray and for hundreds of families who visit our communities, giving everyone the chance to come together in the form of play, regardless of age or ability, within a fully inclusive and welcoming environment.

LEADER funds were used to cover the costs of purchasing and installing the inclusive play equipment.

Once installation of the new play equipment was completed, Moray Sports Centre celebrated the new facility with an opening ceremony, inviting local schools, service providers and the wider community to enjoy all the park has to offer.
